The coated nanoscale zero-valent iron (coated CMC-Fe0) was synthesized with cheap and environment friendly CMC as the coating agent using rheological phase reaction. The sample was characterized by means of XRD, SEM, TEM and N2 adsorption-stripping and used to study reductive dechlorination of TCE. The experimental results indicated that the removal rate of TCE was about 100% when the CMC-Fe0 dosage was 6 g·L-1, the initial TCE concentration was 5 mg·L-1 and the reaction time was 40 h. The TCE degradation reaction of coated CMC-Fe0 followed a pseudo- first-order kinetic model. Finally, the product could be simply recovered. |
