| The Suzhouhe River that flows across Shanghai urban districts, is a badly polluted river and is affected by-tides. This paper introduces the natural circumstance of hydrology, meteorology, tides and sediments of the-river, and water quality monitoring system as well. Water quality features including oxygen-balance factors, nutrients, physiochemical parameters toxicants, time of black foul smell etc. have been described and analysed. On this basis the paper stresses the effect of tides on water quality and the ultimate oxygen demand in the river. |
