The roles of vertical transport of air pollutants by cumulus clouds was discussed using a Eulerian sulfur deposition model.The results indicated that the vertical transport by convective updrafts and downdrafts in cumulus clouds is an important factor that changes the distribution and transport fluxes of SO2 and SO42-.In upper model layer,because of the vertical transport by cumulus clouds the concentrations of SO2 increase by 50%—400% and high value centers of transport fluxes through a north-south section appear. |
