| Nitrated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are a class of important pollutants with direct acting mutagenicities and carcinogenicities.2-nitrofluorene is a representative compound of nitro-PAHs. This paper reported the effect of 2-nitrofluorene exposure on gill structure of the grass carp.After 2, 4, 10 days of exposure,gill of fish was examined under electron microscope. The most severe gill lisions included the hypertrophy and increased number of chloride cells. This type of structure damage shows a close similarity to those caused by other pollutants,such as lindan. |
