Mixed carriers consisting of fine sand grains and coarse coke grains were found to have a good co foperation in a three phase airlift-loop reactor with a side settling zone for wastewater treatment.The treatment of coking industrial wastewater in this reactor indicated that,as compared to a single carrier,the mixed carriers were not easy to lose with effluent and gave a higher COD removal rate [11 kg/(d·m3)], a better effluent quality (e. g.,phenol or cyanide had a concentration of 1/3—1/5 times that in the case of a single carrier) the biornass easy to grow up on the surface of the carriers,and lower energy consumption. |
