| This paper deals with the development process of the applications of immobilized microorganisms in the wastewa-ter treatment.The applications of immobilized cell techniques for wastewater treatment, including removal of BOD, nitrification-denitrification, degradation of phenol and cyanide, removal/recovery of the heavy metals and the decolorization of dyeing wastewater, etc., were reviewed.Finally, the perspective of the applications of immobilized cells in the biological treatment of wastewater was evaluated. |
