| A new spectrophotometric method is described for the determination of yellow phosphorus in wastewater and polluted river water. The procedure comprises extracting the yellow phosphorus from wastewater by the organic solvent, reacting it with silver nitrate solution to form bright yellow colour, and then determining by spectropho-tometry divectly. The detection limit is 0.01μg of yellow phosphorus, with a relative standard deviation of 0-8% (n=2-4), and a recovery of 88%-100%. The method is simple, rapid, sensitive, selective, presice, harmless and safe as compared with the previoces method. |
