Buffering mechanism of soil for acidic precipitation is an important topic in studying the effects of acidic precipitation on soil. Based on simulation of leaching experiments of acidic precipitation for some forest soils in China, this paper brings forward a discussion about the buffering mechanism of soil for acidic precipitation. The soil consumes H+ ion through releasing cations, the ratal amount of released cations is equal to the total amonut of consumed H+ ion in soil. The buffering mechanism of soil consists ot three processes, which are the exchange of cations, hydrolysis of aluminum hydroxide, and weathering of primary minerals. The importance of each process is different in various conditions. |
