This research did aeration experiments and the measurementof acid-volat ile Sulf ide(AVS)and simult aneously extract ed metals(SEM)for a set of sedimentsamples in Le An River to determine the metal release potential. It was found that AVS in Le An River sediment is low and there would be the risk of second pollution in the way of mobilization of sediment bound metals tothe overly ing water. It is most likely that the iron and manganese oxide are important metal binding com ponents in Le An River sediment. |
